Why We Made Sitrus

The goal of Sitrus is to help people build a habit of reflection. In a world that can seem uncertain and distracting, Sitrus is meant to help you pause and reflect on what mood you’re in and why you’re feeling that way. We’ve built Sitrus to help people better understand the patterns in their personal mental states and to hopefully help our users find more peace of mind and control throughout their daily lives.

There are lots of apps and programs for tracking and reflecting on your mood, but Sitrus is made to be quicker, easier, and able to capture more in-depth data around your mental health. The centerpiece of the app is a mood quiz -- a 30-second quiz where you swipe left or right on different emotions that you’re feeling in the moment. The quiz pulls in a variety of emotional words encompassing a deep range of moods, and by saying ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to each of these words, it helps articulate what you’re feeling at any time, and gives you a moment to think about why you’re feeling that way.

As a mood-tracking app, Sitrus also collects data over time, providing a way to look back on your past moods. By observing trends, patterns, and phases you’ve gone through, Sitrus helps you see how your mood can change and how your current mental state fits into that picture.

By making Sitrus, we aimed to combine the rigor of quantitative data with an element of subjective reflection to help people gain a better understanding of themselves. We hope it’s easy and insightful, and even a little fun!

We’re aiming to continually improve Sitrus, and we still have a lot to learn. We welcome any feedback or thoughts you might have! Feel free to email us a team.sitrus@gmail.com.
